1. Why This Course :

The training is designed to bring expertise among the participants in the Arc- GIS. The course will be held as a two way interaction between student and tutor  . In this program participants will learn about different GIS tools and functions as well as they will learn the particular applications that are essential for engineers.

The training will be conducted in two way interaction module .New topic will be entered when participants become confident about previous topic .. The training sessions will begin with delivering the conceptual knowledge on Arc-GIS and progresses with intensively engaging the participants into the contents and ends with making them pro-users.

                                 –          Review of Basic tools in Arc- GIS system

                                 –      connecting folder and data management

                                 –      Data Collection And Digitization      

                                 –     Creating a new Shape files

                                 –     data import from different file sources 

                                 –          Basic function clip, merge, buffering, dissolve

                               –      Geo-referencing  

                              –      working in different layers 

                             –      Performing spatial analysis using Raster Algebra

                             –     Terrain analysis ( Slope, aspect, View shed, X-section, L-Section)

                            –      Watershed Modeling (Correction for DEM, Flow Direction, Seek  Computation,)

                            –       Watershed delineation,slope analysis ,catchment area calculation

                            –        Reservoir volume calculation

                            –        Layout preparation and printing

                           –        Reservoir Height Analysis

                          –          DEM and Contour Formation from Total Station Data 

Learning by doing 

Group-based project work will be assigned to the participants to revise their learning and add more confidence while executing their learning into the work.
