SHEET METAL DUST PAN
Description: –
A dust pan will be constructed out of sheet metal by using tools and equipment to make proper bends in the metal and fastened by various means. This process is one of the important process in workshop activity. The various operation used in this metal-sheet shop is cutting, reverting, joining, sheering, bending etc. It has its own significant as a useful trade in engineering work as well as in our daily life. Common examples sheet metals are hoppers, dust-pans, cover, funnels, steel cabinets etc.

Lay-out of Dust Pan: –
Procedure: –
First of all, G.I. sheet was taken and 250mm X 108mm dimension was marked with marking scriber and sheer was used to cut the required part out. Ten the work piece was marked with the dimension according to the lay-out by using metal scale and scriber. Now the unnecessary parts were cut out by using sheer. Now using bench vice and hammer the work piece was folded according to lay-out. Now the required center was marked by using center punch and then drilled out by using portable driller. Now handle prepared according to lay-out is join in the drilled hole on the work-sheet by using revert. Revert was hammered by using round tip hammer to join the handle and pan. Now the sharp edge was cleared by using smooth files. Finally, we get the required shape of the dust-pan.
Safety Review: –
We have to be careful while holding freshly cut work sheet.
We have to be very careful while marking the required points according to lay-out.
The sharp edges should be cleaned by using smooth file.

CAN OPNER
Description: –
Can-opener will be constructed out of metal strips by using proper tools and machine to get perfect look. The various step involves in this work-piece is cutting, filling, drilling, etc. It has its own significant as a useful trade in engineering work as well as in our daily life.

Procedure: –
First of all, we mark the required length on the metal strip then cut it with full precision using cutting machine. Then we clamped it into vice. With the help of double cut file the with and excess length was removed by filing to get required dimension. Now to cut the mouth part of the work-piece first we mark the required dimension and then make it perpendicular with horizontal base and cut the unwanted parts by using hacksaw blade. After cutting we again file the cut part to make smooth and to get the required length. Now to make a hole of diameter 10mm, first we mark the point and using center punch first we made a small point for the tip of driller to hold its tip and drilled at the required parts. Again following the same process, we cut the parts and filed using half round file and round file to get the required can-opener.

SHAPING MACHINE
The usual kinematics system provided in shaping machine for transmitting power and motion from the motor to the tool and job at desired speed and feeds is schematically shown in fig.
The main function of shaping machines is to produce flat surfaces different planes. The cutting motion provided by the linear forward motion of the reciprocating tool and the intermittent feed motion provided by the slow transverse motion of the job along with the bed result in producing a flat surface by gradual removal of excess material layer by layer in the form of chips. The vertical infeed is given either by descending the tool holder or raising the bed or both. Straight grooves of various curved sections are also made in shaping machines by using specific form tools. LATHE MACHINE
The role of virtual prototyping in design, optimization and product development is crucial giving knowledge of cutting forces in the computer modeling and design of the lathe machines. This machine is employed in metal cutting and shaping operation. A typical type of lathe machine provides variety of shaping and thread cutting operation by providing different speeds and also provide manually and automatically moving operation for cutting tools. The main function of lathe machine is to make different types of ears, cutting thread of required radius and thickness, etc.
MILLING MACHINE
Milling is the process of machining, flat, curved, or irregular surface by feeding the work piece against a rotating cutter containing a number of cutting edges. The milling machine consists basically of a motor driven spindle, which mounts and resolved the milling center and reciprocating adjustable worktable, which mounts and feds the work piece. The horizontal milling machine is massive casting that rides the cutter head containing the milling machine spindle is attached to the ram. The cutter head can be swiveled from a vertical spindle position to horizontal spindle position or can be fixed at any desired angular position between vertical and horizontal.
AC-ARC WELDING
Electrical arc welding is the procedure used to join two metal parts, taking advantage of heat developed by the electric arc that forms between an electrode and the material to be welded. The welding arc may be powered by an alternating current generator machine(welder). This welding machine basically a single-phase static transformer suitable for melting RUTILE(sliding) acid electrode. Alkaline electrode may also be melted by alternating current if the secondary open-circuit voltage is greater than 70V.
The welding current is continuously regulated by turning the hand wheel on the outside of the machine, which makes possible to select the current value, indicated on a special graded scale, with the utmost precision. The earth cable is connected to the work piece or support surface in such way as to provide the best possible contact. It should therefore be free of rust, grease, paint, etc. The welding circuit must not be deliberately placed in direct or indirect contact with the protection wire except in the work piece.
